All Rights Reserved =================================================================================== This file is provided to owners and users of the Rio Carbon, ce2100, and ce2110 players for the express purpose of flashing, or reinstalling, the Rio firmware version 1.95. NOTE: Users upgrading to 1.95 MUST Flash the player in UPGRADER mode. Failure to do so will lead to database and transfer problems. Upgrading from UPGRADER mode will erase all of the files on the Rio, so please back up any important files first. File Contents The executable file RioCarbonCe_firmware_195.exe is a self-extracting compressed file which, when expanded, places the following files on your computer in a folder called C:\RioCarbonCe\Flash195\. RioCarbonCeFlash_195.exe - This is the utility which communicates with the Rio hardware and installs the firmware file to the Rio. Readme.txt - This is a copy of the file you are reading now. =============================================================== 2. Instructions **NOTE** Please backup content on Player to PC. **NOTE** Verify the Carbon is fully charged before proceeding. 2.1 Prior to installing and running the firmware update close all programs. 2.2 Run the self-extracting file RioCarbonCe_firmware_195.exe which you downloaded from the Internet. It will extract to C:\RioCarbonCe\Flash195\ 2.3 Hold down the MENU button and turn on the Rio. You will see the word "UPGRADER" on the screen. 2.4 Connect the Rio player to the computer with the USB cable. 2.5 Double click on the Icon labeled 'RioCarbonCeFlash_195.exe' 2.6 Press the 'Next' button, and the firmware upgrader will detect your Rio with version 0.0. 2.7 Highlight your Rio Player and press the button labeled 'Next'. The firmware will begin transferring to the Rio player. ***DO NOT Disconnect the player while the firmware is updating*** 2.8 Once finished, press 'Finish' to exit the firmware upgrade application. 2.9 Disconnect the Rio and let it startup before doing any transfers. =============================================================== 3.
