What are the current monthly fee option and the one-time service
activation option for the ReplayTV service?
The current monthly subscription fee is $12.95 and the one-time service activation
option for the lifetime of your ReplayTV unit is $299. If you are a current ReplayTV
monthly customer, you will continue to enjoy your current pricing as long as
your monthly service doesn’t lapse.
So there are two payment options for the ReplayTV service?
Yes. Customers can choose either a $12.95 monthly subscription fee or a one-time
$299 service activation/subscription fee good for the life of your
ReplayTV unit.
Does the ReplayTV 5500 work without paying a monthly fee or the one-time
activation/subscription
fee?
The ReplayTV 5500 has a 10 day grace period during which no activation is required.
In order for your box to operate after the 10 days, you need to choose either
the $12.95 monthly subscription fee or the one-time $299 product lifetime subscription
fee.
After I activate service on my ReplayTV 5500, how long does it take before
the "You Must Service Activate Screens" go away?
It takes between 24 to 48 hours, depending on the last time your ReplayTV 5500
connected to the ReplayTV service, before the "You Must Service Activate
Screens" go away.
Can I use any of the ReplayTV functionality like Manual recording without
paying a monthly fee or the one-time activation/subscription fee?
No. In order to use any of the ReplayTV product’s functionality, you must
either choose to pay a monthly fee or the one-time activation/subscription fee.
(But once you start to use your ReplayTV DVR with the ReplayTV service, you'll
wonder how you ever watched TV without it!)
Is there a grace period to use the ReplayTV 5500 before activating the
ReplayTV Service?
Yes, there is a 10 day grace period (after your first connection to the ReplayTV
service) for you to use the ReplayTV Service before activation. Over the course
of those 10 days, you will get reminders to activate your service. If you have
not activated your service by the 10th day, the box will cease to operate until
you activate it. Note: If you wait until the 10th day to activate, you might
have to wait 24 hours before your box will update with its activation.
If I currently own a ReplayTV 4000, do I need to activate the existing
service for this unit?
No. All ReplayTV 4000s, and any older ReplayTV models, are exempt from the Service
Activation Fee since it was included in the initial purchase price.
If I purchase a ReplayTV 5504 (40 hour model) and decide to get a ReplayTV
5516 (160 hour unit) and I sell the ReplayTV 5504 to friend, how do we change
ownership information and should we?
If you initially own a ReplayTV 5500 and decide to sell it to a friend, your
friend can change ownership in our system. And in order for your ReplayTV 5516
to operate, you need to service activate that unit and pay a separate $12.95
monthly subscription fee or a one-time $299 product lifetime service activation/subscription
fee.
Simply go to the ReplayTV Product
registration page here and input the required information including your
ReplayTV serial number. You should provide the updated information in the event
we have special offers, updates , etc. that you might want to receive from ReplayTV.
If the ReplayTV 5504 is using the $12.95 monthly subscription service, you will
need to contact Customer
Support to remove it from your account and your friend can then sign up for
the $12.95 monthly subscription fee. If you already paid a lifetime service activation
fee for the 5504, your friend can immediately start using it for no additional
fees.
If I activate the service on my ReplayTV 5504 (40 hour model) and then
decide to get a ReplayTV 5508 (80 hour model) and I give my ReplayTV 5504 to
my
friend, do I still need to activate the service on the ReplayTV 5508?
Yes, the service activation follows the box and not the person. So if you activate
a ReplayTV 5504 and decide to get a ReplayTV 5508, you will need to activate
the service on the ReplayTV 5508 by going to the ReplayTV
Service
Activation page and paying a separate $12.95 monthly subscription fee or
a one-time $299 product lifetime service activation/subscription fee. If the
ReplayTV 5504 is using the $12.95 monthly subscription service, you will need
to contact Customer
Support to remove it from your account. Your friend can then sign up for
the
$12.95 monthly subscription fee or a one-time $299 product lifetime servication/subscription
fee.
I just received an RMA replacement for my ReplayTV 5500, do I have to
reactivate it?
If your ReplayTV 5500 was service activated by you prior to sending it in for
an RMA, your replacement unit will return in that state. So if you service activated
your ReplayTV 5500, then sent it in for repair, your replacement unit will be
service activated. If you had not yet service activated the ReplayTV 5500 prior
to sending it in for repair, you will need to service activate it when the replacement
unit is sent to you. Units sent in for repair retain their service activation and should not need
to be re-activated.
Do I get a refund if I don't use the ReplayTV for the whole month?
No, there are no refunds if you cancel service on your ReplayTV DVR before the
completion of that month. You are responsible for the service for that month.
You will not be charged for the next month.

No, there are no refunds if you cancel service on your ReplayTV DVR before the
completion of that month. You are responsible for the service for that month.

Are there any restrictions on the password?
Yes, it must be 4 characters or longer.
I didn’t receive my monthly email regarding charges to my account. What’s
wrong?
The email address you provided might be invalid or mistyped. Please contact Customer
Support and verify your account information.
The monthly fee is supposed to be $12.95 per ReplayTV product, but the
charges don’t add up. Why?
The Monthly Subscription fee is $12.95/Month per ReplayTV. There are a number
of reasons why you were charged differently:
- You’ve signed up for service in the middle of the month and your
Monthly Subscription fee has been prorated for the number of days remaining
in the month.
- Your account has been credited.
- You signed up for service within 7 days of the end of the month and your
account has been charged for the remainder of this month plus next month.
I get an error when I try to activate my ReplayTV.

How do I login to my existing Monthly Account?
Visit https://www.replaytv.com/shop/login.asp.
Login with your email address and password. Once you're logged in click on "View/Edit
Monthly Service Account".
How do I cancel my Monthly account?
You must contact Customer
Support to cancel your monthly account. When you
setup your account, you authorized DNNA to charge you $12.95 or $9.95 every
month. If you do not call customer care, you will continue to be charged. There
will be a $25 reactivation fee reinstate the account.
