Question:
How do I force a Connection to ReplayTV Service?
Answer:
When you force a connection, the ReplayTV downloads channel guide updates, activation status, and checks for any new software.
To force the ReplayTV to connect, follow these steps on the Replay remote:
- Press Menu on the remote.
- Choose Setup from the menu.
- Scroll to Connect to ReplayTV Service Now.
- If you don't have this option see directions below.
For ReplayTVs running older software:
- First, exit any menus you're currently in.
- Press "2-4-3" on the remote followed quickly by pressing the "Zones" button - this will launch the following informational screen:

- Select #7, 'Net Connect' from the menu. (#4 on ReplayTV 2000 or 3000 series). A message at the bottom of your television screen will indicate a successful connection.
If you are unable to force a connection using this method, you may need to reboot your unit. This is done by pressing and holding the "Power" button on the front of the unit for 10 seconds. (Note: When you hear the fan in the rear of the unit turn off, your unit is rebooting.) Now follow the above instructions again to force a connection.
